At the Secondary School's Team National Finals, Coopers Coborn came back with absolutely extraordinary results! Despite the tiring 3 hour journey, the team were roaring with energy as soon as they got to the pool. Both the younger and older students supported each other and were determined to completely smash the day. The atmosphere was intense; the team put on face paint of the school’s colours to really bring out a fighting team spirit. The energy from each swimmer was passed on from one to another as everyone was eager to go out there and do their best!

The first event for our swimmers was the Junior Boys Medley relay. They were going into the race having ranked 3rd in the regional rounds, leaving the boys with already a confident and determined spirit. Being inspired by the Team GB 4x200m team, who won gold at the Paris Olympics, they changed their layout by using a heat swimmer and a final swimmer on breaststroke leg. As a result, this enabled the team to swim even faster as they could conserve their energy, beating their entry time by 4 seconds!

This victory was the school’s first time ever obtaining this title. It led to a spur of energy and boost in confidence to the rest of the team, now believing they could also achieve outstanding results. Each team after that broke new school records and achieved a record-breaking collection of awards:
